Traveling to Toyohashi to see ocean

Will be staying in Toyota City and trying to plan some day trips, thinking about traveling to Toyohashi to see the ocean. Is there a closer or better place to access the ocean from Toyota City. Is there anything to do in Toyothashi ? Thanx

If you go by train and dont want to transfer, Nagoya Railway(or Meitetsu) Mikawa line takes you to Hekinan station near Kinuura Port.

If you don't mind making transfer once and wanna see a bit more beautiful ocean, You should try Gamagori.

These places are easier to access from Toyota than Toyohashi.
