Kamikochi - Matsumoto - Tsumago

Hi,

We need to get from Kamikochi to Tsumago. Our plan is to take the bus from Kamikochi to Matsumato, and then transfer to a train via Nagiso.

My question is: Is it possible to leave our luggage somewhere in Matsumoto (2 big suitcases) and to do a quick trip to Matsumoto castle? We only need 2-3 hours there.

Yes. In case you cannot find any large enough lockers available, I recommend to ask the station staff for options to store the luggage. There should be a way.

We stored our luggage at Matsumoto station for a few hours. There is a luggage room opposite the StarBucks upstairs from the platforms. There were several large lockers available at the time.
