Day trip to Hakone

Would like to check with you if a day trip to Hakone is it enough. Will be going in December.

Yes, many people do Hakone in a day trip from Tokyo. You can see a lot, especially if you leave early in the morning. Keep in mind that a lot of attraction close by 5pm. And in winter around 4pm.

I will be in Tokyo from 23 Dec till 01 Jan. Will be visiting Takayama on the 27 & 28 Dec.
