i'm still little bit confused about JR pass coverage. if i take SHINKANSEN TSUBASA to UTSUNOMIYA and switch to JR Nikko Line, will it be covered by JPpass or only in part or not at all? thanx

Yes! And shinkansen train between Tokyo and Utsunomiya, be it a Tsubasa, Yamabiko or Nasuno, will be covered by the Japan Rail Pass. And the JR Nikko Line is covered too.
