Worthwhile to buy JR pass? Tokyo-Sendai

I'm arriving @Narita ~2pm
On the day arrival day plan to take JR fm Narita-Tokyo-Sendai. Q: Will there be sufficient time to reach Sendai before dark?
And in the next few days from Sendai Station, JR Senseki Line to Hon-Shiogama/ Matsushima and perhaps Izumi Premium Outlets.
Q: Is it worthwhile to buy a JR pass or just buy the tickets seperately? Thanks for helping! :)

Only in summer will it still be bright at that time of the day. Is it worthwhile to buy a JR pass or just buy the tickets seperately?If you travel before December 2010, the special 3-day JR East Pass will be a great offer. I agree with Uji.
We got our JR East pass that's 10,000yen for 3 flexible travel dates.
p.s. just went to Sendai on Sep 21. :)
