Hakone Tozan bus 2010/11/4 17:52
Hi all, I'll be visiting Hakone & staying at Shinanoki Ichinoyu in 2 weeks' time.

1. From Odawara to the hotel, we were told to take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Hakone Yumoto to change to Tozan Bus. Can change to Tozan bus at Gora Stn instead?

2. For the round course, this is the route plan: From hotel, take Hakone Tozan Bus - Gora - take Hakone Tozan Cablecar - Souzan - take Hakone Ropeway - Owakudani - continue on Hakone Ropeway - Togendai - take Hakone Sightseeing Boat - Hakone-machi - walk along Cedar Avenue - Moto-Hakone - take Hakone Tozan Bus - Kowakien - take Hakone Tozan Bus - alight at Shinanoki Hakone Highland Hotel
There is supposed to be Tozan bus line K but according to this website (http://www.hakonenavi.jp/english/traffic/map.html), there are only lines A, B, C & E?
Can someone advise which Tozan bus line to take for each part?
Thanks in advance!

No. But you can take a direct bus from Odawara Station instead. There are less departures from Odawara than from Hakone-Yumoto, though.

Departures from Odawara:

Departures from Hakone-Yumoto:

Moto-Hakone - take Hakone Tozan Bus - Kowakien - take Hakone Tozan Bus - alight at Shinanoki Hakone Highland Hotel

Buses between Kowakien and the hotel are very infrequent. You better take a bus from Moto-Hakone to Hotel-mae (line H) and transfer to a bus to your hotel (line T).

Here is a complete network map:

Line K runs along the old highway and is of no use to you unless you want to hike along the old highway.
