Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some opinions about the toyoko inn as there I have been unable to find a contact e-mail address.
I am going to japan next April and am possibly looking to stay there however, I don't know what the hotel is like compared to the prince hotel.
also do they have a baggage service whereby they can look after your baggage while you're away traveling? We are planning to visit Takayama, kyoto and osaka for about 5 days.
and do they have a parcel shipping service?
we're possible going to stay at the shinagawa hotel.

I am going to japan next April and am possibly looking to stay there however, I don't know what the hotel is like compared to the prince hotel.Prince Hotels differ widely from ugly business hotels to luxurious resort hotels. It is difficult to compare. Toyoko Inn are always the same standard business hotels. The following website should give you an idea: http://www.toyoko-inn.com/eng/info/index.htmlalso do they have a baggage service whereby they can look after your baggage while you're away traveling? Many hotels will have no problems holing your luggage for a few hours before check in and after check out. Or for a night between stays. and do they have a parcel shipping service?Such services are available everywhere and nationwide: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2278.html

Hi, I have called them back a week to ask the same questions about the holding of luggage.
They do hold your luggage for you overnight or a few nights as well. (Called Ikebukuro Kita Guchi No 1) My case was I would be checking in for 5 days and checking out thereafter for 4 days and returning for another 3 more nights there after.

comparison

Comparing the two hotels is a bit too much. There is a big difference between them, as you can probably guess from the room rate that you'll be paying! No problem in getting your stuff shipped at Toyoko-Inn. Just inform the front desk staff. The hotel can keep your luggages overnight (or several nights) as long as you'll be returning back to the hotel afterwards. The holding place for it is nothing fancy. They just put your luggages at a corner in the lobby area and put a net over it, and pass you a tag number for your luggage. But don't worry, we've done it countless times and yet to lose anything. :) Some photos of Toyoko Inn we've stayed at : http://urutoranohihi.blogspot.com/2009/10/our-room-at-toyoko-inn.html

toyoko inn is like comfort inn in N. America. Basic, cookie cutter type of hotel with no frills like a no name brand. If you are staying in Ueno which is the best hub for Tokyo, I would recommend touganeya hotel. It is one minute from the JR Rail Station. You can leave your luggage there for free, no matter how long. They have a secure area for luggage and when you come back, the luggage will be waiting in your room. Lots of great shopping and food near the hotel. Internet free. They speak English. http://www.tougane-h.com/e/index.html
