Hi i'm going to Japan in Feb and have just gone to buy a JR pass from Qantas and even though the JR site says 45100 Yen which currently is less than $550AU, Qantas want nearly $800AU for it! Just wondering if anyone knows a cheaper place to get it before I go ringing every place on the list, thanks :)

Student Flights, if you have one near you or a Flight Centre. I'm travelling to Japan in Feb too and bought my 14 day pass for about $560 AU from my local Student Flights centre

You should not pay above the price

The price of a Japan rail pass should be its price in JPY converted to your currency the day you buy it. Do not pay above this!

I also recommend japanpackagetours.com.au in Melbourne: they have been fantastic for all out queries, and mail everything efficiently and have excellent deals
