Here is the location near Nikko:

Couldn't find an English language webpage, but was able to find some Japanese ones. There are no overnight stays, it is an onsen with a cafe/bar serving boiled eggs and draft beer. It is open 14:00 to 02:00 everyday except Tuesdays (closed). It is an open-air onsen. This webpage:

appears to have nothing but good reviews.

Temperature is 48 deg C (119 deg F), alkaline, very little sulfur so you don't have the rotten egg smell. The water is clear and tasteless.

Webpages with photos are here:

A few more things... 2010/12/10 06:04
... 800 yen is $ 9.56 US, not very expensive if you ask me. It's good for the entire evening, so you could go back to Nikko for dinner and come back and close the place down as you turn into a prune. I saw one review that thought it was a bit expensive, but they thought the view and the atmosphere more than made up for the extra cost. I just found another website that gave it 4 out of 5 stars on everything but the price (2 stars). Overall, they gave it a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

Thank you very much 2010/12/10 06:55
O wow that's way more information then I could have hoped for. I guess that was why I had trouble finding info on it since all sites were in Japanese. Thank you very much for the translation and for taking the time to help me.
