From you other post you said you will be arriving in Osaka, right!? Connected by direct train from Osaka are 2 destinations which your son may like. In the Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum he can "make" his own cup noodle and take home as a souvenir. In Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum he can try out his drawing talent in the animation workshop on the basement floor, esp. if he likes Astro Boy.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, William, we arrive in Osaka, but we do not stop, we go directly to Kyoto.
we are seven nights in Kyoto, one night in Kobe (to see the Robot Tetsujin) and 6 nights in Tokyo.
Maybe we will include them in our turn, William, you are very kind.

Thank you for your kind words, just want to share my passion for travelling in Japan.

If you want you can still go to the 2 places I mentioned earlier using Kyoto as your base, just take a bit longer. It is about 1 hr on JR from Kyoto to Takarazuka where Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum is located. From Takarazuka you can take the private Hankyu Rail for 15 min to Ikeda for the Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum.
