Osaka to Koya san, Feb 23, 2011. www.japan-guide.com/e/e4904.html QUOTE:- gOsaka's Namba Station to the Gokurakubashi terminal station. A few limited express trains operate directly to Gokurakubashi (80 minutes, five trains per day). Or take an express or rapid express train (100 minutes, departs every 20-30 minutes), most of which require a transfer at Hashimoto.h I can't find anything in Hyperdia about the limited express direct, or even the express with one transfer. Best I can find is one morning train 110 mins from Namba with 3 changes. Perhaps itfs just the date I want to go? Has anybody actually found a timetable for this mythical 5 trains a day, direct route on the Nankai line? or even the 3 times an hour express with one change?

Lonely Planet,Japan guide etc, all refer to it as Osaka's Namba station so I kept entering 'Osaka-Namba' as the start point.[For 70 minutes!] Thanks again Uji. I expect I'll get the system right just as I'm flying back to Australia . PS Took your advice to stop over in Okuhida. perhaps Yumoto_Choza-ryokan. Later I will take JR to Osaka from Takayama. I have to change from Takayama train to the Osaka shinkansen at Nagoya . I have 9 minutes to get from one train to the other. Any idea if this is possible for a Gaijin at 17.00 Tuesday who cannot read [or speak] japanese? Peter

That should enough time to make the transfer. All platforms at Nagoya Station are parallel to each other. Easy to navigate.
