Sending batteries in the post or EMS 2011/5/16 10:59
I was looking at the rules for Japan Post & EMS, and it seems that the rules have changed in last couple of years.
Previously, I've sent one or two cameras overseas by EMS, and they included the normal Lithium-Ion battery.

Now the rules state that the Lithium-Ion battery that comes with the camera CANNOT be sent by EMS or Japan Post.

Has anybody run into this problem? Can you suggest any other service that can transport the camera with the battery (apart from expensive couriers like DHL)??

My family used DHL Express before last Christmas.

Oops. You already mentioned that. According to my family, DHL was the only company who would do it.

This has changed again and you can now sent items containing lithium batteries to most countries - notably not Italy or Germany.
More info with list of OK countries-

I heard that if a item include a battery, just put the battery in the unit, and you should be alright.
