Amanohashidate in winter? 2011/9/26 10:48
Hi!

I'm planning my autumn/winter trips for Japan, and I was wondering how does Amanohashidate look like during winter, say early/mid January?

I really want to see it, but I already planned to go to other places for my trip in autumn (mostly not in kansai). And Feb is also booked with winter-related events... So if Amanohashidate is not that bad during January I'd like to visit that time.

I imagine its mostly pine trees on the strip itself, so it should not be barren during january, right? what about surrounding landscape? no snow is ok for me, but barren landscape might not be worth the trip :)

let me know what you think, especially those who have been there...

Thank you!

andy,

I've visited Amanohashidate 2 times. The first time was in February, 1983, and the second time was in April, 2011, and to me, they both looked completely the same. Have fun.
