How to obtain F1 ticket in Japan? 2011/10/3 23:12
I want to visit the Japanese F1 GP next weekend in Suzuka. I have tried to buy the ticket via Loppi system at Lawson stores but everything is in Japanese wich I don't understand. I asked several store clerks in diffrent stores for help but either they don't speak english or they don't understand the system theirselfs.

Is there any other way to get a F1 ticket other then at the Lawson stores? Please help.

Do you have any other Japanese speaking friends who could help you?

Last year we purchased from the Japanese website:-
http://www.suzukacircuit.jp/f1/

Assuming you are trying to go for the actual race there are probably not many tickets left, and no cheap tickets from what I can see:-
http://www.suzukacircuit.jp/ticket_s/2011/f1/freeticket/index.html
By the looks of it C1 at 28,000 yen is the cheapest. D5 at 37,000 is in a pretty good spot with a big screen TV in view.

This site is linked off the Above Suzuka website as handling English "Tours":-
http://vipe8.com/index-english.html
They also seem to sell the individual tickets. Although in general they seem to ship via EMS, so you may try them through their contact page or try phoning I guess to see if there is another way.

When we purchased ours (direct) we were able to pick them up at the Suzuka Bowling Alley on the day instead of having them posted to us.

I don't speak enough Japanese to walk you through how to do it with the Loppi system but you probably need at least the L-code for what you wish to purchase. I'd try the above websites first though and see how you go.

Hope this helps!

Loppi 2011/10/5 12:19
Not sure if you searched but you may also find a few guides on how to use the Loppi machine:-

http://www.ehimeajet.com/living/loppi.html
http://www.hyogoajet.net/wiki/How_To_Use_Lawson%27s_Loppi_Machines

No idea how accurate/useful those guides are.

This is the Loppi information page for F1:-
http://l-tike.com/sports/f1/

If you put it through google translate it will do a reasonable job.

The L-codes down the bottom of the page correspond to the different seat/stand categories and includes things like the photographer pass, and the women only tickets. I'm pretty sure the L-code you want for the "Blue" seats (grandstand seats coloured that way on the map on the L-tike page) is 50282. That would include seats in Grandstand D5 or C1.

Please use the above with caution and get someone else to confirm as I am not 100% sure and I don't think Loppi F1 tickets are refundable!

Hopefully someone who is fluent in Japanese can add some more info for you!

Thanks for all the help and effort GC3!

With your directions I managed to get a ticket for the D5 grandstand through Loppi.

Only thing is that they ask for your name but it was all in Japanese so I just filled in some random characters. I hope they don't make a problem of that at the track.

Awesome!!!!

The view from D5 is very good and you will have a good view of the big screen TV too.

I'm not sure if you searched but I made a long post in this thread which is probably worth reading:-

It might have been handy to learn the Katakana for your name but I'm sure you will be fine.

Enjoy the race!
