cheapest flight on ANA for the summer 2012/2/20 05:03
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew when is the best time to book the cheapest flight with ANA for the summer. Besides me liking the food, service, and unlimited drink service, I've racked up miles in their frequent flyer program. Any info will be appreciated, Thanks!

You probably don't have the time to do it but what I did was check everyday probably about 1 hour a day searching for flights (i'm out of AZ) until a cheaper fare came up. But being flexible is really important. For me they were consistently 1100 - 1200. But one day after midnight it went below 1,000 and that's when I bought mine. However my flight isn't until october.

ANA prices until March 2013 are now loaded. Although the cheapest fares may not be loaded until nearer the time. It is also possible to get very cheap fare a few days before travel via a specialist travel agent - but this is risky.

Also note that the cheapest fare bucket will only earn 50% miles with ANA, more expensive economy tickets will earn 70% or even 100% miles. And due to the expiration restrictions, earn rate, and high fuel surcharges on award tickets, accruing miles with ANA mileage club is not a good idea (unless you fly enough to get status with ANA and the accompanying bonuses or you have an ANA credit card). Assuming you are from USA, you will get far more value flying ANA, but earning miles with one of the US-based Star Alliance carriers' frequent flyer programmes.

Maybe it was just a coincidence but I did find very good rates offered by united but both flights would be operated by ANA. It was on a Sunday I noticed. A couple of days later, I noticed that there were no available tickets for that rate. To everyone: thanks for your help!
