Showa Daibutsu Aomori

Hi,

Could you advise how can I visit Showa Daibutsu from Aomori JR station ?

The bus schedule and fare will be very helpful for me to plan my trip.

This is a 25 min connection bus between Aomori JR station and Showa Daibutsu. The following link has bus departure time listed: 青森駅発 is from Aomori station, 昭和大仏発 is from Showa Daibutsu. But I am not sure whether the schedule is up-to-date as it is stated 3 years back.

Thanks. Your info. helps shading some lights to my trip plan.

I'll have a day time in Aomori before departing for Hakodate late evening. So thinking of spending half day morning at Showa Daibutsu by bus (8.07 from Aomori and 11.10 return) then the whole afternoon at Hirosaki.

Anyway, I willcheck the bus schedule again at spot, hopefully at ASPAM TIC.

It is a very good idea to double-check the bus schedule upon arriving in Aomori. You don't need to go all the way to ASPAM if you just want bus information. Right outside the JR station is the single storey bus terminal. Though people behind the bus counter only speak Japanese, English is spoken in the TIC counter next to it inside the same building.

I've just discovered a typo in my first response.

The bus journey from Aomori JR station to Showa Daibutsu is 45 min, not 25 min. Bus fare is 540 yen.
