Hey guys, I hope someone can help me answer my questions.
I tried searching the forum, but I didn't find an answer to my question.
I am going to Japan in August as a high school exchange student, and will stay there for 10 months. I will be 17 years old the whole time I'm there.
My question is that I need a cell phone over there. ATM I have a Blackberry, which means I need Blackberry Internet Service to get online, which I probably woun't bother to do.
Therefore I need to buy a phone over there.
What do you recommend? A prepaid phone or a monthly subscription?
I don't need anything more than the most basic phone.
And 2, is it hard to buy a phone as a minor? Is it hard to get a Japanese bank account as a minor?

the legal age in japan is 20, i don't think you will get anything that involves signing a contract and monthly payment just by yourself.
Prepaid shouldn't be a problem
