Is JR Hokkaido pass valid for Hamanasu night train from Hakodate to Sapporo? Could I reserve the carpet seat with this pass? Thanks!

If you travel by carpet seat or berth, you have to pay a surcharge. If you travel by regular seat, then the Hamanasu is covered by the pass.
