Combination tickets? 2012/6/7 02:52
I was wondering if there is an combination ticket for the sights in Kyoto and Nara? I mean like Enopass in Enoshima and the "World Heritage Pass" in Nikko.

I have almost one whole day that I don't have any plans for yet, while I'm in Kyoto. I'm interested in going to Ohara, Hikone, Mount Hieizan and Uji + Daigoji Temple. Obviously I can not see everything. Can you give me advice for that day? How would you plan it?

There is nothing all-covering like the Nikko World Heritage Pass. But there are many such offers for single destinations in the outskirts of Kyoto, but most of them are targeted at Japanese travelers and have not much information in English.

For example, there is a ticket for Hieizan:

And a different one for Ohara:

And one for Uji:

And one for Nara:

Thank you for the answer Uji. Could you tell me how you would spend one day, if you had to choose between the four places I mentioned?

my idea

Kyoto - Hikone Castle(open 8:30-) - Mt Hiei(transfer at JR Ishiyama station) - Ohara - Kyoto

or

Kyoto - Hikone Castle(open 8:30-) - Mt Hiei(transfer at JR Ishiyama station) - Daigoji(transfer at Yamashina station) - Kyoto

I would reserve half a day each for Hikone and Hieizan take half a day each. They are time consuming destinations.

Ohara and Hieizan can be combined geographically relatively easily. A slow or medium fast traveler could spend an entire day with just these two destinations. Fast travelers might be able to add a third destination, such as Daigoji, but it would be quite busy.

Alternatively, Uji and Daigoji can be combined into a day. Again, slow travelers could fill an entire day with the two destinations alone. Fast travelers could add a third one. But I think that Ohara, Hieizan and Hikone would all be to time-consuming.
