Third trip to Japan - Travel Suggestions

Hi Everyone

I just thought I'd get suggestions on my third trip to Japan in 18 months (absolutely love the place!)

So far I've been to
Osaka
Kyoto
Nara
Miyajima
Hiroshima
Hakone
Tokyo
Kamakura

I will be going for around 9-12 days this September landing in Tokyo.

Any suggestions? I was thinking a short day trip to Nikko.
Has anyone had experience climbing Mt Fuji around early-mid Sept? Is it possible?

I'm with GC3 though I'd be thinking about the heat in September, which can be feral early on, also the typhoons which might be feraller! So while Shikoku is a great idea, that is prime candidate for typhoon, I think less chance the further north and west you go. I'd make it a northern honshu/hokkaido trip.

I'll definitely take a look into the above areas! Takayama looks within distance for me to travel.

Does anyone have any experience with Mt Fuji in mid September? Is the weather okay to do this? Or am I a few weeks too late?
