Narita to Disneyland 2012/8/2 23:53
Hi, we( 2 adults, 2 children) are planning our 10 days trip to Japan & will be arriving at Narita at 7am .
We were thinking in stead of going to downtown & plan to Disneyland another day, would it be a good idea to proceed to Disneyland and stay at a hotel for a night, so that we can see both Disneyland & DisneySea in 2 days.
However, since we will be arriving after an overnight flight, we would need some place to gather ourselves, but most hotels will allow check in by 3PM only.
Is there any suggestion, and also is there any easy transportation option considering first time Japan visit.

many thanks

I think that since you will be arriving in the early morning from an overnight flight, it'll be better to go to Disneyland & Disneysea on another day. You might be too tired and sleepy from your flight that you might not enjoy Disneyland as much. I usually spend a whole day from morning till night in Disneyland so i would not recommend going straight when you land. Enjoy!

I am also aligned to the thought that going to the disneypark from narita may be stressful.

Being first time visitors to Disney parks, how much time it will normally take to cover major rides in disneyworld and disneysea.. Can we do both in one day, or two days is must..?

For me, I wouldn't change the hotel even if I visit Disney Park for 2 days. It takes only 15 minutes(210yen) by train from Tokyo station to Maihama. It would be more hassle to change my hotel. I would reserve my hotel in the eastern area of Tokyo, though.

FYI.

Re: Tokyo Disney parks 2012/8/4 12:08
I recommend you take a benefit of guaranteed admission to the park
by staying in one of the Official Hotels for the previous night, or
by applying for your park tickets via the TDR website.
- http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/online/en/plan/ticket/index.html
- http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/en/ticket/ticketcenter/index.html

Park tickets are sold at Official Hotels to those who stay there. When admission to a Tokyo Disney park is restricted due to crowdedness, Official Hotels make certification for their customers on the previous night to get admission smoothly.

Residents outside Japan cannot directly purchase park tickets on the website, but if you apply for them via the website and purchase them at Ticket Center, then you will be given a same benefit.

Note that this benefit does not save your time inside the park to wait for attractions.
If you come on a busy day with many Guests inside the park, I suppose it may be a miracle for you to experience all popular attractions.
FASTPASS may be issued for some designated attractions, but it does not guarantee entry.

One Tokyo Disney park ticket is valid for one park on the day.
Consider selecting one park and visiting it in the middle of your itinerary.
It can cause a nightmare to the children if you dare to visit the two parks within two consecutive days.

Tokyo Disney parks are vast, and signs for Guests are not always enough helpful. Please do not hesitate to ask a Cast for the way.
