from Tottori Airport to the Sand Dunes park

We will be going to Tottori to see the sand dunes. We want to know the best way to go to the sand dunes area from the Tottori airport, since we will be flying from Tokyo to Tottori.

How far is the airport from the sand dunes? What is the recommended hotel closest to the sand dunes area?

The best way is by rental car. If you prefer public transportation, you will have to take a bus into central Tottori and a different bus to the sand dunes. Airport bus departures are timed with the arrival of flights. Access to the sand dunes from central Tottori is explained here:

There is a hotel just next to the sand dunes, but I haven't stayed there and am not sure whether it is good or not. Frankly speaking, it looks a little bit old:
