Takayama Autumn Festival Schedule?

I was wondering what the schedule of events was for the Takayama Festival? What happens at what time on Oct. 9 vs Oct. 10? I know there's an evening procession on Oct. 9, but are there different activities or performances during the day on the 9th vs the 10th?

I am mainly wondering if we stay in Takayama all day Oct. 9, if we will miss anything Oct. 10 by going to Furukawa or Shirakawa-go?

I too have the same doubt. I'll be staying in Kyoto during that week and was planning on a day trip to Takayama on Oct 9th or 10th.

The data for this year has not been published on the internet yet, but it is likely to be the same as 2011, when it was as follows:

Karakuri Puppet performances:
10/9 at 15:00
10/10 at 11:00 and 13:00

Line up of floats:
10/9 and 10/10 from 9:00 to 16:00

Evening parade:
10/9 from 18:00 to 21:00

Mikoshi leaves the shrine:
10/9 at 13:00

Mikoshi returns to the shrine:
10/10 at 13:30
