keep old bank books? 2012/9/2 18:14
hello,
Is there any need to keep my old Japanese bank books?
I have quite a few now and just wondered what to do with them.

thanks

What do you mean by "bank books"? Your regular account statements?

Usually all you need to keep is the capital and interest statement for tax reasons.

I mean the small book that you use to withdraw / pay in money and that you can update to keep track of all your financial transactions.
Is there any need to keep these for tax purposes etc?

No, there's no need to keep those books as long as you do not need them yourself.
For tax you cannot use the books, you need the actual receipt to prove what you've paid/received.
