Hi all,
Is it true that we are not allowed to take photographs inside the hall of Sanjusangendo?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, it is true. Sanjusangendo prohibits picture taking inside the hall where the kannon statues are displayed.

The posted warning states that if they have to take your camera and upon inspection find that you have taken pictures, they confiscate; either the card or the camera itself (i don't remember exactly which).Enjoy and become absorbed in the overall spiritual experience. You will be glad you did. Keep cameras out of sight or if possible, back at the hotel. "Sanjusan'was my favorite stop in all of Japan and I will visit again next year.Konban-wa
