Bicycle rental near Tokyo Station

Hey,

We are going to be in Tokyo around the 13th to the 21th of October.
We planned the week in Tokyo with many attractions which require walking to many train stations, some are quite far by foot.

We thought - why not rent a bicycle, and ride to some close attractions. Also, we can ride to the stations and park nearby and take the bicycle back to the hotel on the way back from the attraction.

Our questions -

1. Is there any good & cheap bicycle rental shop near Tokyo Station?
2. Is it possible to park the bicycle anywhere we want, or are there some regulations? Especially near train stations

not cheaper than train fee.

1. Not that I know for sure, but I'd say unlikely. In city center like right around Tokyo station, everything is within walking distance combined with subway/local train rides.

2. No you cannot. If you park on the streets, you could get them taken away. They have paid parking lots you need to sign up for.

What kind of places are you thinking of going?

Oh, it may be pleasant.
I enjoyed cycling when I visited in Kyoto and Nara.
Although it's costly more than expected.

BTW, in Japan, Bicycle rental often called "renta-saikuru"(rent-a-cycle).

Ah, sorry.
It's hard to park the bicycle near train stations.

If you will ride bicycle and train,
I can recommend 1day pass for trains and ride train only as aforesaid.

The rent prices seem way too expensive. Also to search & pay for bicycle park lots seems annoying, we will leave that option for now.

However - we will be in Takayama between the 21th to the 25th (something like that) and in Takayama we think the bicycle rent will be a good option. Are there any good bicycle rental shops there with decent prices? (200-1200JPY per day).

AK - we plan on going to disneyland, ginza, akihabara, tokyo tower, asakusa and etc.

Can you reccommend any other good attractions?

This is a good idea to visit Tokyo Station. It's good to move with cycle for shorter distance. You can get easily the one for renting bicycle, just need to find the shop who offer such and they would also help you to solve the problem where you can park it.
