I can only do day trip to Kusatsu Onsen. How much would I see with just 4 hours to spare?

I guess you can browse the town center and soak into the free hotspring. May i ask how you plan to go to kusatsu and why there is only 4 hours. BTW, i will be there staying at one of their pensions in November. If there is time , you can think of staying there for one night.

I have concerts every night on my 4 night stay in japan. All in differemt cities every night too. I'll be coming fr Takasaki with Nagano for the evening destination. I was looking at where to go then Kusatsu seems to be near. Still not sure whether to head there tho.

Lester, which pension do you recommend and how much?

I have been there for 2 hrs & it is worth it! The onsen water is really effective. Did a little shopping, lucky cat figurines. Soba noodle is good there!
They have a foot bath.
Very compact town.

Which pension is closest to the bus terminal? I have luggage to roll.
