Fukui Dinosaur Museum to Hida Takayama

I'm planning to travel in early Dec. From the Fukui Museum, how do I go to Hida Takayama?

What time do you plan on leaving Fukui?
Will you have a JR Pass?

Along with the paths suggested above, you can also take the train to Kanazawa and then the bus(es) from Kanazawa to Shirakawago to Takayama or from Kanazawa to Takayama (which go via Shirakawago but without hopping off).

The buses are not covered by the JR Pass.
