Tokaido Shinkansen Line from Narita? 2012/10/12 16:47
Hello all,
Am arriving at Narita in a few days and wish to go direct to Osaka. Can I get the Tokaido Shinkansen line (bullet train) direct from Narita?
If not, what is the quickest way to get the connection from Tokyo?
Many thanks

Will you have a JR Pass?

Can I get the Tokaido Shinkansen line (bullet train) direct from Narita?

No.

If not, what is the quickest way to get the connection from Tokyo?

Usually Narita Express to Tokyo/Shinagawa Station then transfer to Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka Station. Then transfer to local lines for wherever you are trying to go to in Osaka.

If JR Pass then you are restricted to Hikari Shinkansen (not Nozomi)

Trains and Timetables:-

Untick "Nozomi" and "Airplane" under "Search details" for JR Pass usage.

In general the transfer is easier/quicker at Shinagawa Station instead of Tokyo Station.

Depending on time of day sometimes it is theoretically quicker to take Keisei Skyliner to Nippori instead of Narita Express but in general Narita Express is the better/simpler option.

Enjoy your trip!
