To/from Shimogoshiro covered under passes? 2012/10/14 12:38
Hi,

I am checking out places to stay and considering a place close to Shimogoshiro station. Is to and fro this station to the sights (both shrines and the lake) covered under the All Nikko Pass?

Also, is the All Nikko Pass or the World Heritage Pass more worth for a 2-day (1 night) to check out the shrines and the lake/waterfall?

Thanks for any help!

The station is located just outside the pass' free area. You may be allowed to get off there when coming from Tokyo and board there when returning to Tokyo, but free travel between Nikko and Shimogoshiro is not covered.

The free area does not extend south of Shimoimaichi Station.

Thanks for your quick response!

Oh, do you know how often is the train to Tobu Nikko station from Shimogoshiro? I think we still want to stay in a cottage style accommodation.
