Is it ok to visit Miyajima in late March? 2012/10/14 23:12
Just wonder about the weather in late March in Miyajima. Afraid that I cant get a good view of the tourism attraction like Itsukushima Shrine.

and one more question, during what time is the high tide atTorii Gate at Itsukushima Shrine?

Thx so much

Just wonder about the weather in late March in Miyajima.

It changes day by day. On average, it is sunny on about 6 out of 10 days. And it rains on about 3 out of 10 days.

Our family went there for a few days in late March about 2008. It was really good, but the wind was bitterly cold and quite strong. Sunny spots out of the wind were nice, otherwise you really need to wear a jacket and also something to stop your legs getting cold. The upside was that the sky was crystal clear and blue.

I was there the 16th this year and it was drizzling. It was in the high 40sF and it wasn't too comfortable a visit. It was cloudy and you barely could see Miyajima from the mainland or vice versa, but you still could take good photos of the torii and Itsukushima shrine....
