生命のガス i recently bought a sword,i would like to know if anyone can translate this mei for me. It was written on the tang .swords not that old ,has new rust, was told it made no sense.Thank you for any help.

Micheal,
It means "the gas of life". Interestingly, it is also how the Ramones' "Life's a Gas" is translated in Japanese. How that all relates to your sword, I really couldn't say.
