Should I go to Noboribetsu? 2012/11/8 17:07
I am thinking of going to Noboribetsu for free foot bath & sightseeing (day trip). From what I see on the brochures, it seems that everyone goes there to have a dip in onsen. I don't think I want to have a dip because I am not comfortable being naked in front of other women. Do you think it is worth the effort to travel from Sapporo for foot bath & sightseeing only???

Noboribetsu is worth going even without spedning a night there. But for a relaxing visit it is best to have an overnight stay in one of the many onsen hotels. Jigokudani is nice and scenery in Oyunuma and Oyunumagawa Foot Bath is beautiful especially during autumn foliage season.

As for an onsen experience, it may feel uneasy the first time but you will like it once you have tried it out. Besides it is a unique experience in Japan that no one should miss.
