yokohama-hakone-tokyo trip advise 2012/11/12 10:15
hi,
i need some advice on the transport mode on my yokohama-hakone trip.

we plan to leave tokyo for yokohama taking the keikyu line and stay at yokohama for one night.

the second morning we will take JR tokkaido line to Odawara and buy a hakone pass there.

we booked a night at B&B Pension. should reach there by 1 pm or so.

we plan to reach tokyo about 8pm on the second day

1. how should we cover the attraction spot in hakone? togendai+lake ashi first or gotemba premium outlet first??

2. it's ok that we do it
first day-togendai
second day morning-lake ashi
second day afternoon/evening-gotemba Po

3. what r to most convenient way for me to travel back from gotemba to tokyo? i saw some odakyu highway bus, do i need to book that earlier? how much does it cost?

4. is it easier or cheaper for us to travel back to tokyo by odakyu train?

thanks in advance.

The schedule which you have suggested yourself sounds best to me.

what r to most convenient way for me to travel back from gotemba to tokyo?

I recommend to use the Odakyu Highway bus. Reservations are possible but not mandatory The regular cost is 1540 yen one way, but Hakone Rail Pass holders can ride it for 850 yen. But I am not 100% sure whether that discount applies only to pass holders who have the round trip version of the pass or all pass holders.

4. is it easier or cheaper for us to travel back to tokyo by odakyu train?

No. It would be very time and cost consuming to make the detour via Odawara.
