Is Cash accepted on Hokkaido Expressways?

We are self driving in Hokkaido in January and wish to use the Doto & Hokkaido Expressways. Can someone confirm if we can pay cash at the toll booths. Our hire car does not have ETC machine. many thanks

Yes, cash is always accepted at expressway toll booths.
