Bus between Yudanaka/Shibu/Snow monkey 2012/12/2 20:03
Hi
I've been trying to locate the bus schedule for Yudanaka onsen, Shibu onsen, Snow monkey park and Shiga Kogen for Dec 2012.

If the schedule is in Japanese, could someone also help me point out the stop names from Japanese into English please?

Thanks

Here is the timetable for buses between Yudanaka Station and Shiga Kogen:
http://www.nagadenbus.co.jp/robus/2012fuyu/shuttle.htm

It is somewhat complicated. The upper table shows buses from Oku-Shiga-Kogen to Yudanaka and from Yudanaka to Yokoteyama, as well as buses directly operating between Oku-Shiga-Kogen and Yudanaka. The lower table shows the buses in the opposite direction.

“’“c’†‰w means Yudanaka Station. It is listed with two columns in the middle of both tables. The first column shows arrival times, the second departure times.

ã—щ·òŒû means Kanbayahsi Onsen Guchi. It is the closest bus stop to the trail that leads to the monkey park

And on both sides of the timetable are multiple bus stops in the Shiga Kogen area. Where in Shiga Kogen are you planning to travel?

There is also another bus line that operates between Yudanaka Station and Kanbayashi Onsen:
http://www.nagadenbus.co.jp/local_nakanano/kanbayashi_s.html

The buses with a black triangle don't operate on weekends and national holidays.

Finally, there are direct buses between Nagano Station and Shiga Kogen:
http://www.nagadenbus.co.jp/robus/2012fuyu/shigawin.htm

’·–ì‰w“ŒŒû means Nagano Station (East Exit)

The above linked timetables will be in effect from December 8, 2012. Different timetables are in effect until December 7.

Thanks.

What's the Japanese character for Hasuike and Maruike for this bus schedule?
http://www.nagadenbus.co.jp/robus/2012fuyu/shuttle.htm

And what's the difference between the upper schedule and the lower schedule?

Dear Uji,
Thanks for precious information about Nagaden buses. I saw your answers in this forum about bus from Nagano to Kanbayashi. I would like to ask you (or someone else who knows Japanese) the question about the first express bus from Nagano that departs on 8:15 according to http://www.nagadenbus.co.jp/robus/2012fuyu/shigawin.htm. Does it operate only weekdays or only weekends? From your answer about the black triangle I understand only weekdays (Monday to Friday). But your answer that I found at http://www.japan-guide.com/forum/quereadisplay.html?0+44082 speaks about weekends (Saturday, Sunday).

Thanks a lot!

˜@’r Hasuike
ŠÛ’r Maruike

And what's the difference between the upper schedule and the lower schedule?

The direction that the buses run in Shiga Kogen, as described in my initial post.

Does it operate only weekdays or only weekends?

Only on weekends and daily between December 29 to January 3

From your answer about the black triangle I understand only weekdays (Monday to Friday).

That was referring to a completely different timetable. The black triangle can be used in many different ways.

Thanks Uji. I plan to go there on Sunday, so this is really useful for me as morning Dentetsu trains are too slow.

Re: Bus between Yudanaka/Shibu/Snow monkey 2012/12/11 08:10
The first bus linked in my initial answer also stops at Shibu just a few minutes after leaving Yudanaka. It later stops at Kanbayashi Onsen-guchi, which is just outside the small onen ryokan town of Kanbayashi Onsen. The times for Shibu Onsen are not listed in the timetable.

The second bus linked in my initial answer also stops at Shibu a few minutes after leaving Yudanaka. It goes on to terminate in the center of Kanbayashi Onsen. The timetable does not list Shibu Onsen. It stops there something like 5 minutes after leaving Yudanaka.
