Where to visit in April? 2013/1/22 12:02
I have been to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. If I am going again in April, where should I visit?

1.what are your interests
2.It is not possible to have seen everything in those cities, so what have you already experienced?
3. where are you arriving/departing?
4.how long are you staying?
5.have you read this forum's sightseeing guide?
(especially in relation to cherry blossoms, as April is prime time for that)
6.what budget/JR Pass etc etc
6.the whole of Japan is available to enjoy

Let us know some more before answers can be given

Thank you so much "fmj".
1. We are interested in Japanese food.^_^
We are thinking of Hokkaido and onsen. We never try onsen before. Is it okay to visit Hokkaido in April?
We have seen several temples and Castle in Osaka and Kyoto, also cherry blossoms in Osaka.
3+4. We plan stay in Japan during April 13-20. We have no destination yet.
5. I will do that.
We have 7 adults (30-60) and 3 children (4-9 years of age).
6. For hotel, we could afford about $100 or lesser than per night for 2 people, and would like to travel by JR if not too confusing.

Yes, you can visit Hokkaido in April although there won't be any cherry blossoms yet around that time, so that's a bit of a shame.
If you're interested in food, then you can't miss Hakodate and the Hakodate Morning Market: http://zoomingjapan.com/travel/mt-hakodate-and-morning-market/

Have you been near Mt. Fuji yet? It's great in April (although cherry blossoms might be gone already), especially the area in Kawaguchiko. There's a lot to do, also for children.
You can expect quite a few onsen and great landscape.

The Tohoku area might be interesting as well.

Where you decide to travel will determine where you fly presumably.
I cannot advise re Hokkaido unfortunately..sorry.
Other wonderful places on Honshu are
Kanazawa and Kaga Onsen,

Nikko and Kinugawa Onsen and Edo land
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3879.html
Miyajima (and Hiroshima)
Mt Koya for vegetarian buddhist cuisine (or maybe not with children)
Takayama, and nearby Gero Onsen
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5990.html
...the list goes on and on
$100 for a night per room with Onsen facilities could be tight.
Good luck and enjoy!

Thanks for all advices.

But I still have not received the clear information.

I still insist to travel to Hokkaido during mid April; where should I visit there?
