Train frequency 2013/1/24 03:31
I have been writing down some places to go according to japan guide info pages and the travel guide with trains. I try to find some place where I easily can see the frequency of trains in Japan over the day so I can be prepared if there are train lines with few trains and dont get back to the hotel. I know there is hyperdia but it is quite time consuming. Perhaps there are suitable timetables in english I can see?

Generally speaking, Hyperdia is best, especially the "Interval timetable" feature.

But for selected lines or companies, there may exist online timetables in table format, but be aware that some English websites do not get properly updated. I recommend to double check with Hyperdia.

Here are selected ones by JR East:

JR West:

Tokaido Shinkansen:

When using Hyperdia, click the "interval timetable" on the train number and you'll see all the trains that service that run on that day.
