Travelling to Tokyo and Kyoto

hi, my gf n i will be flying to tokyo in april. Will be heading to kyoto straight after we touch down in tokyo. What would be the best recommend way to travel to kyoto? Planning to stay in Kyoto for 4days n Tokyo for 5days. Any recommendations for this two areas?

You could consider flying from your airport of arrival to Itami Airport from where it is a 1-hour bus ride into Kyoto.
