Fukuoka to Kurokawa - can it be a day trip? 2013/1/29 16:17
Hello,

I will be based in Fukuoka for a week in early March, and I was wondering if it would be possible to do Fukuoka to Kurokawa in a single day? I don't mind if it's a very (very) long day, and I have a JR Pass. I've tried to find information on bus schedules and stuff but I seem to find conflicting information. Unfortunately I cannot rent a car.

Thanks very much!

Hi, you can go to Kurokawa from Fukuoka on day trip. but! However! In the case of day trips, you may not be able to stay only one hour on the timetable of the bus and JR. So, how is this 1 Day Trip Pack?

You can get there and back in a day - but not in any kind of enjoyable, leisurely visit. Nobody wants to visit somewhere on vacation with a countdown going off at the back of your head.
Actually it is a nice place to stay the night. It is quite famous for its outdoor baths (rotenburo) and they are quite nice at night as well. Try and get to the tourist office next to the bus station for some good walking maps.
