Highway Bus from Yudono-san to Yamagata City

The highway bus from Tsuruoka to Yamagata appears to stop near Yudono-san. Does anybody know the details. In early September I want to spend a night near Tusruoka, take a morning bus to the 8th Station on Ga-san, climb up Ga-san and down to Yudono-san, then get on the highway bus to Yamagata. Is it feasible? Any ideas? Bus schedules? When and where to change buses? Is a reservation necessary for the highway bus to Yamagata? Thanks
