Do the Japanese have desserts! 2008/4/5 05:36
I just got back from Japan! They make a pound cake and serve with strawberries or other berries. They make annin dofu, which is a sweet almond jelly/pudding with fruit, they have mochi -- if you want to do "Memoirs" style get sakura flavored yatsa-hashi mochi (shaped in triangles, and the "specialty" of Kyoto). Also, they make these tortes from green tea and have green tea flavored whipped cream between the layers, and garnish with sliced sweet potato on whipped cream.
