I think sake (pls people don't pronounce it as saki, its rather annoying) reminds me of vodka. Dry sake is like absinthe!

I don't think I could relate it to wine at all without the very forward fruit driven flavours in the latter.

Like someone said it always reminds me of vermouth.

very interesting topic I have a very old stone ware bottle from at least 20 years ago A visit to the sake production outlet in penrith here in sydney sell a good sake there in different taste and colours the expert said leave it for show .dont drink it any comments on that? ばんざい
