I don't understand what's the point of buying it if it almost the same price as getting at home?

Just tried Osaka Yobo by the station and Bic camera in Namba this evening and no stock in either. Not sure what other shops may stock it in Osaka but didn't try anywhere else. Also no Famicom minis either....

I don't know if I am translating the sign right, but it seems like BIC will have a lottery for new stock on the 15th? Is that applicable for all locations?

You can get your lottery number at 9am. The winners will be announced at 12 and if so, you are able to buy it up until 2pm.

@Chad - for a lot of us it's not cheaper in our home countries. In Singapore it's more than double the price, similar in Mexico, and about 30% more expensive in Australia and New Zealand.

Went to Akihabara this afternoon and the only store selling it priced it at \35,800. Store's name is Mulan right next to Club Sega.
Looks like the only way to get a chance to get one over there is to push your luck with Sofmap's lottery happening on Saturday April 15th.
Application starts at 0900 Announcement of winners @ 1200 Deadline to purhase it is before 1600

Do they have international warranties? What happens when you buy it in Japan and it's defective? Wouldn't you have to return to Japan to exchange it? There have been problems with the 1st generation Switch.

There is no international warranty for nintendo products, it has been like this for many years. Nintendo has always rely on regional warranty, thats why it's advice to purchase a local one, but people want them early or cheaper.

Let's hope those people who are desperate to get one in Japan don't get one that has a bent docking port that will scratch the heck out of the screen when inserted.
