Close to the parking lot at the West Entrance of Queen Elizabeth Park is one of the best hanami spots in Vancouver to have a pick nick. There are several Yoshino Cherry trees including, what I consider to be Vancouver's most beautiful tree.

The most prominent and popular Yoshino tree at the Q.E. West entrance has started to open its blossoms. Full bloom will be reached by next weekend. On the other hand, the other trees just next to this large tree have not yet started to open their blossoms.

A Whitcomb Cherry with downtown and Grouse Mountain in the background. As with most Whitcomb trees this year, this tree bears a lot of damaged blossoms probably due to the cold weather in February and March.
