Nagoya Basho 2023 - Day 15
Chiyobobdog lost his final-day bout but wins the tie-break by virtue of being the highest scorer in the division. It's a deserved first Makuuchi yusho! Congratulations!
Kitakachiyama won again on the final day but was already home and dry. Will his 13-2 record be enough to win him re-promotion to Makuuchi?
And in Makushita, Toshishugisha emerged as the only player with 13 wins. That's a yusho in only his second tournament.
Congratulations to all the winners! See you back here in September!

Nagoya Basho 2023 - Day 14
Chiyobobdog leads but faces Sumio, the greatest ever player of this game. lets see how he does.
Kitakachiyama has won Juryo. As expected. He is way above that level.
Toshishugisha is back in the lead with Daiyama. Let's see how that goes!
Good luck to all the contenders!

Nagoya Basho 2023 - Day 10
Chiyobobdog emerges as sole leader as of day 10 in this topsy-turvy tournament. A chasing group of six that includes Ozeki Norizo, Sekiwake Konosato and Komusubi Andrasoyama are hoping for early winning records tomorrow.
Kitakachiyama leads Juryo alone with eight wins. Aoyume and relative newcomer Toshishugisha are in front in Makushita, both with 9-1 records.

Nagoya Basho 2023 - Day 7
It has been a very unpredictable Nagoya tournament so far. Some players are handling it very well, especially new Ozeki Norizo, who is now a co-leader with six wins. Chiyobobdog, Hironoumi and Genya are all vying with him for supremacy.
Juryo is very open so far with no one standing out. Five players are leading with five wins, including former Sekiwake Kitakachiyama.
Nine players lead Makushita, including the talented Joaozan, who is surely headed straight to the top of Makuuchi in the next couple of years.

Nagoya Basho 2023 - Day 4
Welcome all to the steaming Nagoya basho. The summer started early in Japan this year and there has been no let-up so far to the oppressive heat and humidity.
Congratulations also to newly-promoted Ozeki Norizo, who is returning to the rank after a very brief stay in 2008. It looks as if he wants to stay longer this time as he is a co-leader with four straight wins.
Chiyobobdog and Hironoumi share the lead with the new Ozeki in these early stages. Sagi and Haruibono are unbeaten leaders in Juryo. Makushita as usual is still taking time to shape itself.
Good luck to all the players!
