I am assuming that you are not wanting to go to Yufuin, Beppu, or Kurokawa, which are all hot springs towns.

I have found a link to the Nishitetsu packages trips from Fukuoka. There is a package to Yanagawa and YUTTARI Hanatateyama Hot Springs:

http://www.nishitetsu.co.jp/train/kippura/global/english/hot.html

I am planning to go to Yanagawa.

If you are willing to go to Kitakyushu, there is an Onsen that I plan to go to called Ajisai-no-yu, which has a shuttle bus from the JR Yahata Station. It is within walking distance to Kawachi Fuji Gardens, Which has mass Wisteria plantings.

I have also found a link to the shuttle bus schedule (I think, it's at least called karashishuttle):

I am also planning to go this onsen and the gardens.

When trying to do research I came across this page in Rakuten Travel:

http://travel.rakuten.com/hotel/asia/japan/hukuoka/chikugo.html

This has lots of places around and in Fukuoka in the listing.

I hope this helps.

There are some inside Fukuoka City itself, and a hot spring resort town only about 12 minutes by express train from Hakata Station. First you might look at Shiroyama no Yu, located just on the west side of Yakuin Station (1-1-1 Yakuin, Chuo-ku, tel 092-781-2211, open 10:30AM-8:00PM) for 1800 yen.
Others have mentioned a few others as well, like:

http://www.namiha.jp/access/index.html

For a group of others there is an association of them in Minami-ku, close to Ijiri Stn on the Nishitetsu Line. See:

For a hot spring resort town, there is Futsukaichi. It's not the most famous in Kyushu but it's one of the oldest, going back over 1300 years and famous poets like Natsume Soseki have been there. See:

Actually, just to give one important correction - the Shoroyama no Yu closed in 2006. Apparently even the local ex-pat magazine didn't even bother to check when they listed it as still open 2 years ago.
But there are a few others you can try, at
