Does anyone know bookstores in Kyoto that have English books.
Especially, I like to know those that are near (by walk) Kyoto Station. I am planning to buy Tale of Genji

It's not that we are being awkward. It's just that english books are not that easy to find in Japan. There was a good shop in the BAL building on Kawaramachi dori. But that shut in January for refurbishment till 2015. Sorry I cant help.

It's not close to Kyoto Station but the Kyoto Handicraft Center on Marutamachi St has a small selection of English language books on Japan and by Japanese authors. They are bound to stock Tale of Genji.
