I will be visiting Kyoto, Osaka, up the Japan sea coast from Tango Peninsula to Hirosaki and down the middle. I would go miles out of my way if I could find a crafts person to visit or a shop/gallery to see and purchase any traditional Japanese fabrics. Secondhand is also good. The only two I know about are Aizenkobo/Nishijin in Kyoto and a Katazome store in Morioka. If anyone has any secrets I would love it if you could share them.

Google search Kurume Kasuri in Kurume, Fukuoka in Kyushu. We have several and always pick up more while in Japan.
