punk, powerviolence, grindcore in japan?

hi, in the coming year i'm headed to tokyo for a whole year, i'm studying there for college.
i'm wondering if anyone here knows any thing about the scene over in Japan. I really want to hang out with people who have the same taste in music as me while i'm over there. so are there any venues or clubs that i should go to while i'm there that specialize in punk or grind? also, any local bands that are good?
I have looked all over the internet for anything to tell me about the scene there but i got nothing.
there were a few threads like this one before but they all seemed outdated.
i'm leaning more towards the harder side of punk in terms of genres.. but hey, anything will suffice.

I went over to Japan last year for about a month and was super keen to see some grind. I managed to see two grind shows in the week I was in Tokyo, and two crust shows later in Osaka. They all ruled. So awesome.

I'm going back next year and found this thread while trying to Google some more info. Here's some venues I can suggest. The first two are the two I went to on my last trip, the others are just ones I've seen shows advertised/booked at:

There`s lots of crust and grind in Japan.
Check out particularly Huck Finn in Nagoya. Unholy Grave constantly put on great shows there.As for bands, my favorite Tokyo bands are Cosmic Neurose, Zenocide, Kaltbruching Acid Death. Other great Japanese bands from other cities Assembrage, Sobbed, Death Dust Extractor, Mass Grave, Skizophrenia, Zyanose, Framtid, Warhead, Disturd, Cyberne, Akka, Bad Dirty Hate, Palm, Five No Risk.

Most of the live houses have schedules on their websites

Thank you so much for posting your question. I too am traveling to Japan the beginning of next year and was wondering the same thing. Although I won't be staying nearly as long as you, was wondering if you did find out any cool shows? If so, any in the first 3 weeks of January? I'd love to go to at least one show while I'm there.
